Swiss vintage watch, cab. OMEGA 'Constellation 1510 Megaquartz F24Mz. Stardust '. Trunk-conical box and original bracelet in nuanced steel (19 cm), 50 x 32 mm. Sphere 'stardust' (dust of stars) dark blue. Luminescent needles. Central second hand. Calendar at six. Very good condition (2). Running status (revised). Created in 1974 as a marine chronometer, its prototype was presented at the Basel Fair of 1970 as 'the most accurate watch ever created'. Of the 1000 unique units of the MQ 1510 caliber (including several in gold), only 100 have the iconic 'stardust' sphere, each manually made with natural aventurine mineral powder. The quartz crystal of the MQ oscillates at 2,359,296 MHz, 72 times faster than a normal quartz crystal. Several sophisticated mechanisms allow the time change without altering the beat of the second hand, designed to beat accurate seconds.
