Watch saboneta, English, s XVIII, BENJAMIN BARBER. London, nº 4844, in box, 48 mm, with two boxes, the outer one, 70 X 38 mm, in the shape of a half shell, with engraved gallons and the Star of David at the base. Front opening. Catalino movement, signed and numbered, with diamond to the axis and a beautiful decoration engraved and fixed on the plate. Porcelain dial with Roman numerals in the hours, and Arabic numerals in the minutes. Reassembly to key. Very good condition (1-2). Marching status. It is accompanied by silver chatelaine, with keyholder, 32 cm. Benjamin Barber appears as a watchmaker in London in the last three decades of the eighteenth century, being one of the main exporters of the time to the Ottoman and eastern empire. His watches are listed in the main museums of London.
